- he new voice note dictation features as mentioned in the change log isn’t working. Tried testing it several times and nothing happens. Understand supposed to be a setting to switch it on which also isn’t there. Please fix asap! Allo and duo should be 1 app makes no sense. Some cool features. Needs a quotation feature in messages and also needs ability to choose dark background as well as voice calls. Finally needs to be the default sms messenger for Android otherwise why do we need yet another IM app?
- You still can’t send Allo messages with Android Auto unless someone messages you first and you’re replying to it. No multi-device support and no message syncing. The Google Drive conversation backup is not a full solution, as the most you can have it run is once a day (unless you go manually force it). The web interface requires your phone to be on and have a data connection. Otherwise, the app is very nice for messaging and is fun to use in that regard. Google could have a great app if they tried at all. Unfortunately, they’ve now “paused” development on it.

Missing the ability to use from more than one device such as my tablet or desktop. Finally has a web client..that requires connection to phone…that is Chrome only… Can’t use without SMS number tied try account. @google is the only assistant so far. No @notifications for users. Can’t edit messages after they’re sent. Won’t upload images from links like imgur. No Wear integration (update: 2.0 added some functions). Incognito chats are not in the same chat but are a new chat. Doesn’t offer anything new that isn’t already done by the main competitor. On the positive side we can at least remove people from group hangouts. SMS fallback is nice but not worth it for being tied to one device.
